With the new release of Chat Gpt 4o Image generation, the use of generative AI has been rampant in content marketing, either it’s used tastefully or it's very blatant.

The problem with this new wave of AI generation in marketing is that you are only creating the end goal of content marketing, the “good looking” content. Unfortunately, that is all it will ever be, good looking content.

The Key To Success Hasn't Changed

Looking good is only a fraction of what matters in content marketing. Your brand and how you are building a connection with your audience matters way more, especially in the long run.

When you only focus on ‘good looking’ content, it becomes boring and falls into the irrelevant pile with all the other businesses that create ‘good looking’ content.  Generative AI only makes the bridge between ideation to the creation of content shorter.

Brand is what really makes the difference and what makes your content marketing effective and useful.

Content is what your customer sees, Brand is what your customer feels.

Branding is about what makes your business you, visually and verbally.  The emotions and the ‘vibe’ of your business is determined through how you express your brand. The push for these connections is what builds that genuine connection to customers making them much more trustworthy and confident in buying from you.

How To Make Your Content Marketing Count.

Branding and content marketing always works hand-in-hand and for each to do well they both need to be well designed.

For content marketing to be great you need a great brand foundation and a great brand is useless without proper content marketing.

A good rule of thumb to follow with your content marketing is to ‘get people interested in your brand’.

We go more in-depth with this concept in this article The 1 Tip To Make You Rethink Your Content Marketing. But basically what we say is that people don’t want to be sold to in today's market. People would rather make the decision to buy themselves. To ensure that they choose you, create content that expresses your brand in a way that gets your audience to interact and connect with your content.

Here are some avenues to take with your content marketing:

  • Unique style

    • Having something about your content that has a unique element(s) to it

      • The element should be unique enough that your content is recognizable even if you were to remove your logo

  • Transparency content

    • Showing the behind the scenes of a business or culture that most people outside of that industry don’t really get to see. Show how you operate or doing things differently. This adds a personal connection and humanizes your brand more.

  • Storytelling

    • Showcase stories within your business or industry. Share stories that you are proud of telling

  • Visually interesting/captivating content

    • This is content that is visually interesting while at the same time being branded and unique to you

  • Captivating Brand photography

    • This offers a more personal approach with your content and doing a unique style can make you really stand out

Though we are giving you these tips, the type of content you make always depends on your brand as a whole and the resources your business has. Find and develop your brand, then use that as a catalyst to create your content.

Brand matters.
